Adding the AchieveIt App from the Microsoft Teams App Store

This feature is currently in Beta. This feature is available on certain AchieveIt plans. Contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more.

Overview

This article walks you through how to find and install AchieveIt from the Microsoft Teams App Store. Installing AchieveIt makes it available within your Teams environment so you — and optionally your entire organization — can access it directly from Teams.

Before You Begin

Check the following before proceeding:

  • You have a Microsoft Teams account and are signed in.
  • Your organization’s Teams administrator has not blocked access to the Teams App Store.
  • You have the appropriate permissions to install apps (see the Permissions section below).

How to Add AchieveIt from the Teams App Store

Step 1 - Open the Teams App Store

  • In Microsoft Teams, look for the Apps icon in the left-hand sidebar (it looks like a square with the plus sign).
  • Click Apps to open the Teams App Store.

Step 2 - Find the AchieveIt app

  • In the App Store search bar at the top, type “AchieveIt”.
  • Locate AchieveIt in the search results and click on it to open the app listing.

Step 3 - Add the App

  • On the AchieveIt listing page, click the Add button.
  • A confirmation dialog may appear. Review the permissions requested by AchieveIt and click Add (or Add for me) to confirm

Step 4 - Confirm Installation

  • AchieveIt will open automatically once added, or it will appear in your left-hand sidebar under Apps.
  • You may be prompted to sign in or complete a short setup flow within AchieveIt. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish.

Permissions: Who Can Add Apps in Microsoft Teams?

The ability to install apps in Microsoft Teams depends on your role and the policies configured by your organization’s Teams administrator. The table below outlines what each role can do.

Role Based Permissions

RoleDescriptionAdd App for themselvesAdd App Org-Wide
Teams AdminFull control over Teams org settings and app policiesYesYes
Teams OwnerManages a specific team; can control app access for their teamYesWith admin policy

Understanding Admin-Controlled Policies

Microsoft Teams gives administrators granular control over app availability. Even if a user has the technical ability to install apps, the following admin settings may apply:

  • App permission policies: Admins can allow or block specific apps, or restrict the entire App Store for certain users or groups.
  • App setup policies: Admins can pre-install or pin apps for users across the organization.
  • Org-wide app settings: Admins can control whether third-party or custom apps are allowed at all within the organization.

Note: If AchieveIt does not appear in the Teams App Store, or if the Add button is greyed out, your Teams administrator may need to approve or enable the app for your organization. Contact your IT or Teams admin team for assistance
