Adding the AchieveIt App to a Microsoft Teams Channel

Overview

This article explains how to add AchieveIt to an existing channel in Microsoft Teams. Once added, the AchieveIt bot can be called by @mentioning AchieveIt at any time.

Note: Before following the steps below, make sure AchieveIt has already been installed from the Microsoft Teams App Store.

Before You Begin

Make sure the following conditions are met before adding AchieveIt to a channel:

• AchieveIt has been installed to your Teams environment from the Teams App Store.
• The target channel already exists within your team.
• AchieveIt Admin has configured the Microsoft 365 Tenant ID. (Article)

How to Add AchieveIt to a Channel

Step 1 - Open the Channel

• Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the team that contains the channel you want to add AchieveIt to.
• In the left-hand sidebar, expand the team and select the specific channel.

Step 2 - @Mention the AchieveIt app

• In the message area, @mention the AchieveIt app and type the command Notifications or Help.
• This will add the app to the channel as well as the Team, so any shared channel for the Team will now have the AchieveIt app added.

Step 3 - Configure Notifications

• Type @AchieveIt notifications in the message area
• Click the Change Notifications button
• Select a plan or plans you want to receive notifications from.
• Select the notifications you'd like to receive.
• Once configured, click Save Notification Settings. 

Administrator Policy Restrictions

Even if you are a Team Owner, your organization’s Teams administrator may have applied additional restrictions. These include:

• Blocking specific apps organization-wide.
• Restricting which users or groups are permitted to install or pin apps.
• Requiring admin approval before an app can be added to any channel.

Note: If you are a Team Owner but cannot see AchieveIt in the app catalog, contact your Microsoft Teams administrator to confirm the app has been approved and enabled for your organization.
