Creating and Managing Public Dashboards

Public Dashboards let you generate a read-only, publicly accessible version of a Custom Dashboard that anyone can view via a link — no AchieveIt account required.

Only users with Editor access to the Custom Dashboard can create the Public Dashboard version. Viewers can access the public link once it exists.

Create a Public Dashboard

Open the Custom Dashboard you'd like to share and click the 'Options' menu in the top right hand corner of the canvas. Select the Publish option.

The 'Publish Dashboard' menu will open. Click the 'Publish Dashboard' button to generate the public link and create the public version of the dashboard.

Note: The Public dashboard reflects the data visible to the user who published it. If that user's plan permissions change later, the Public dashboard updates accordingly.

Once published, the public link will appear in the menu. You can copy the link or open the Public Dashboard in a new browser tab by clicking either the Copy or Open in New Tab buttons at the end of the link field

A Public badge will also appear in the menu next to the dashboard's name on the Custom Dashboards page, so anyone with access to the dashboard can see that a public version is live.

When someone accesses the Public Dashboard, they will see a view-only 'mirror image' of your Custom Dashboard's exact layout, ordering, and widget sizing. Updates to the source Custom Dashboard inside AchieveIt are immediately reflected on the public version.

Unpublishing a Dashboard

Unpublishing deactivates the public link at any time. To Unpublish, reopen the Options menu while viewing the source Custom Dashboard and select 'Publish' to open the menu.

Click the 'Unpublish' button.

A confirmation menu will open. Confirm your change by clicking the 'Unpublish Dashboard' button.

Once complete, you'll see a confirmation in the bottom right-hand corner of the page that the Public Dashboard has been Unpublished. The Public badge will be removed from the Custom Dashboard.

Anyone who tries to access the public link will see a message that the dashboard is not available.

Republishing a Dashboard

If you'd like to reactivate a public dashboard, you can republish it at any time. Open the Options menu on the source Custom Dashboard and select 'Republish' to open the menu.

When the menu opens, click 'Republish Dashboard' to reactivate the public link. This reactivates the original URL rather than generating a new one.

Once complete, the link will reappear in the menu, and you'll see a confirmation in the bottom right-hand corner of your page.

Note: If the user republishing is different from the user who originally created the Public Dashboard, the republished version will reflect the current user's data permissions.
